PHARMACOVIGILANCE

Pharmacovigilance relates to the detection, collection, examination and assessment of information about the adverse effects of pharmaceuticals with the aim to identify new information about the risks of medication and prevent patients’ adverse reactions. The study of the security profile is a continuous process and an integral part of increasing the efficiency of pharmacotherapy. Sources of reports on adverse reactions are doctors, pharmaceutical professionals, patients and manufacturers of medicines.

As part of activities within committees and working groups AIPM prepares expert conclusions and considers issues of improving pharmacovigilance system, raising awareness among healthcare specialists, pharmaceutical professionals and patients about the practical aspects of pharmacovigilance.
