The Russian government approves the drug import order

The Russian government has established the import rules for drugs intended for medical use, with the exception of drugs intended for human and emergency aiding. The rules do not apply to narcotics, psychotropic agents and their precursors.

Institutions allowed to import drugs: wholesale drug dealers; pharmaceutical enterprises (for the purpose of production); foreign developers and manufacturers (for the purpose of clinical trials, state registration and quality control); research institutes; universities and pharmaceutical manufacturers (for the purpose of production, research, safety control, quality and effectiveness control).

The Licensed Drug list is also compiled. Agents mentioned: pharmaceutical substances; blood and glands intended for organotherapy; vaccines; diagnostic reagents; packaged drugs composed of mixed and unmixed products; unpackaged multicomponent drugs; vitamins.

The unregistered drugs import (for the purpose of clinical trials, expertise, medical treatment) is allowed by Public Health ministry of Russia`s authority.
