AIPM CODE OF PRACTICE

The AIPM Сode of Practice was first adopted in 1998 and is based on the codes of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) and the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA). Since the Code is a “living” document, it is constantly being adapted and improved taking into account the experience gained by the Association in resolving ethical disputes, amendments to the legislation of the Russian Federation, as well as due to general trends in ethical regulation in the world. The current version of the Code is available here.

Following not only the letter, but the spirit of the Code is a prerequisite for membership in the Association. When joining the AIPM, the company confirms in writing its commitment to comply with the ethical standards set out in the AIPM Code of Practice.

Since 2009, an online training on the AIPM Code of Practice has been in place. The training is addressed to a wide range of individuals and is aimed at self-testing knowledge of the rules and basic requirements of the Code.

APPLICATION OF THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE AIPM CODE

AIPM member companies and any persons acting on their behalf are aware of their high social responsibility to society. Based on this, they accept and undertake to comply with the requirements of the Code.

The Code applies to advertising and other methods of promotion of pharmaceutical products, information related to human health or disease.

The Code emphasizes the educational and informational basis for the interaction of AIPM member companies with the medical community and patient organizations in order to develop and maintain a continuous dialogue in order to increase the availability of timely and effective treatment.

The implementation of certain disclosure requirements regarding the nature and level of interaction between pharmaceutical companies and healthcare professionals and organizations provides more opportunities for public control and understanding of the essence of the existing relationship.
